Meet coach Chelsea

Former Softball Coach – University of Redlands

Certified Yoga Instructor 

Chelsea Rex-Singleton spent six years on the coaching staff at the University of Redlands in Southern California where she began as a graduate assistant in 2016 while completing her Master of Arts in Higher Education. In 2019, she was promoted to Assistant Coach.

A native of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, Rex-Singleton is a proud alumna of Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. There, she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Early Childhood Education while competing for the NCAA Division I Red Flash softball team. As a two-way player, she split time between third base and the pitcher’s circle. She compiled a .227 career batting average with 40 RBIs and seven home runs, and posted a 4.13 ERA as a starting pitcher. Her excellence both on the field and in the classroom earned her NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors in 2013.

In addition to her collegiate coaching career, Rex-Singleton is a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 500) and operates as a private instructor through C.Rex Fitness LLC, specializing in softball training and athlete wellness. In 2024, she joined the Lone Star State League’s Team Barrelers, bringing her Division I playing background and coaching expertise to help lead and inspire a new generation of players. Chelsea is married to Steve Singleton current Associate head coach at the University of Texas, Austin.
